Vishnu, the all-pervasive force sustaining the existence of the universe, is the presiding deity of Shravana nakshatra. “Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread”, he says in Bhagavad Gita. You cannot see the thread, but you are well aware that without it the pearl necklace would be destroyed. Lord Vishnu represents that underlying force, which connects everything into a collective consciousness – and therefore the shakti or the power of Shravana nakshatra is samhanana shakti, “the power to connect”. People born under this influence are often very good in connecting facts and people – but may sometimes have a tendency to connect too many things at the same time, which may lead to confusion.
Shravana means “to hear”, “to stream” or “to flow”. The planetary ruler of this lunar mansion is the sensitive Moon. Shravana nakshatra inspires us to listen more and talks less. To be more attentive to the silent voice of our intuition, but also not to ignore the feedback that we receive from our environment. People born under this stellar influence are often extremely sensitive to the thought energies in their environment and tend to absorb them easily, which can be very overwhelming for the mind. It might be sometimes hard for them to discern between the true voice of their intuition and the voice of their mind or thoughts of others. Daily meditation can help them a lot to get more clarity.
